ZERO BRUSH is a zero waste toothbrush set which minimizes waste production. The modular design that the parts can be changed individually. The toothbrush heads are replaceable while other components can be reused or recycled. Handmade soap granules are filled inside the transparent handle. When washing the toothbrush, water will seep into the soap tube and dissolve the soap gradually day by day. It reminds users to change the toothbrush heads when the soap granules are completely dissolved. The soap water can even be used to wash the brush head, thus enhancing hygiene and emitting aroma.

 

HANDMADE SOAP

 

Different botanical scents of soap are provided so that users can fill in the soap tube according to their preferences. The handmade soap is made by asylum factory in Hong Kong, hence supporting the local community and perform social responsibility.

 

Design Concepts/ Speical Features

 

• Only the toothbrush head is disposed of to minimize waste production.

• The toothbrush handle can be reused by cleaning many times (Less Waste)

• Dissolving soap as an indicator to remind users to change toothbrush heads every 3 months.

• Using the suds for maintaining the brush head and the handle hygienic.

• Enhancing toothbrush and bathroom hygiene.

• Different botanical scents of soap are provided so that users can fill in the soap tube according to their preferences.

 

Other Design Directions

 

In the meantime, we are studying the feasibility of placing a plant in a toothbrush to replace the soap. In the next, we will try to have some experiments. If we can also achieve the same reminder function, while greatly improving the overall sustainability by changing the function and appearance, also it benefits the environment.
